MFBSE Director – Italy

Dr Chiara Civera is a Research Fellow in Business and Management, qualified as Associate Professor in Italy, and Adjunct Professor of Strategic Marketing at the University of Turin, Department of Management, Italy. She has a PhD in business and management from the University of Turin, Department of Management. She is visiting professor and researcher at Abat Oliba CEU (Barcelona), London South Bank University (London, UK) and Darden School of Business (Virginia, US). She has published in top-tier international journals such as British Food Journal, Business Ethics: a European Review, and Psychology and Marketing around the topics of Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability, Communication, Stakeholder Engagement and Empowerment applied to various industries with a focus on the food and beverage industry and its sectors, such as the coffee chain. She is the author of the book “Integrated Company Responsibility in the Food and Beverage Industry” (preface by Ed R. Freeman).

Joan is the head of Business and Economics Department at Abat Oliba CEU University of Barcelona. He holds a PhD in International Economics. His areas of expertise include International Economics, Spanish Economy, Entrepreneurship and Business Competitiveness. He is author of many academic articles about financial crisis in East Asian and Latin American, Global Value Chains, Spanish Hidden and Brand Champions as well as the Food and Beverage cluster in Spain.

Damiano Cortese is Ph.D. and Research Fellow in Business and Management at Department of Management and adjunct professor at Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Modern Cultures, University of TurinHe is visiting researcher at Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, visiting professor at Abat OlibaCEU, visiting lecturer at UNISG – University of Gastronomic SciencesHe is member of the research group for the economic impact evaluation of the European projects“LIFE.SU.SA.FRUIT and “FINCH – Financing impact on regional development of cultural heritage valorisation”, of the Slow Food’s event Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2016 and 2018. He teaches Business and Management in undergraduate and postgraduate courses at University of Turin and University of Gastronomic Sciences. His research interests are about sustainable tourism, food and beverage management and entrepreneurship, Value CreationSustainability and Corporate Responsibility, Business Ethics and Common Goods.

Carrie Rutherford
MFBSE Associate Coordinator – UK

Dr Carrie Rutherford is a Senior Lecturer and coach in the School of Business at London South Bank University. She teaches Operational Research to postgraduates, Quantitative Studies to undergraduates and Problem Solving to applicants as well as supporting colleagues with non‑mathematical backgrounds. In Operational Research her innovation is using projects with live clients for student assessment, and in Quantitative Studies she specialises in embedding Entrepreneurial Reasoning into Business modules. She is also researching Combinatorial Optimisation. She has a PhD in Pure Mathematics from Queen Mary, University of London and is BE Programme champion and founding member of the London Coaching Practice.

Susie Wolstenholme

Susie Wolstenholme works in the Division of Business and Enterprise, School of Business. With a BSc (Hons) Business Information Technology for the University of Central Lancashire and an Executive MBA for Bradford University’s School of Management, she specialises in the area of Management of Information Systems and E-Business. Susie is the Course Director for the MSc International Business Management, MSc Business Project Management, PGCert LLL Project Management, BA (Hons) Business Studies and BA (Hons) Business Administration. She teaches a range of subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level including management and information systems, e-business and technology.

Carmen holds a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona (UB), Master in European law from the Free University of Brussels (ULB), Director of the Department of Economics Solidarity Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO), Director Master in Communication and Management of Social Solidarity Economy (UAO). She has published books in the area of international law and the social and solidarity economy. Member of university networks specializing in the social economy. She is adviser to the regional government of Catalonia on social programs and she has received several awards for his work in support of the fight against social exclusion through employment.
